mayAhhh, May. It is a great month to be a Minnesotan. The spring rains are slowly tapering off, yards and trees are green, and flowers are blooming. It is at this time that we start our fertilizing program.

Mid to late May is ideal for fertilizing the cool season grasses which populate the lawns here in the Twin Cities. The slow release nitrogen in our organic-based and refined elements fertilizer blends is much less likely to lead to over fertilizing or nitrogen burn. Because it is slow release, you will see results in about two weeks.

May is also the first period of growth for the cool season grasses which populate Twin Cities lawns. Our grass does most of its growing when temperatures are between 60 and 75ยบ.
