Towards mid August, the days start cooling down, and your lawn moves from dormancy into another growth phase. It is at this time that we perform our second fertilizer application. This late summer fertilization helps revitalize your grass and aids in a quicker green-up post dormancy. It also provides the nutrients your lawn needs for its second major growth cycle.

Lawn renovation
The end of August is ideal for lawn renovation.  This is the best time for aeration and broadcast over-seeding. The soil temperatures and increased moisture at this time of year offers the best chance of successful seed germination. Aeration during this growth phase helps ease soil compaction and enables your grass to grow a healthy root system to support it through winter dormancy.
